How to Decorate with Faux Eucalyptus
Faux Eucalyptus has absolutely blown up in the last few years. You seem to see it everywhere from tiny sprigs in pots at a restaurant or as a huge tree in interior décor magazines. At Rustic Sweethearts, we have long loved Eucalyptus. We have been using it in our décor since we started, and absolutely love the look and fullness that it give the pieces.
There are so many ways that faux eucalyptus can be styled, and here we’ll run through a few of our favorite options out there.
There are several different types of Eucalyptus. Each one is individual and has it’s own unique style, changing where it should be used and how it’s best to be used.
There are 3 main types, spiral eucalyptus, seeded eucalyptus and silver dollar eucalyptus, all amazing but completely different.
Spiral Eucalyptus
This type of eucalyptus has small circular leaves on thin stems. These are often seen as long trailing stems used in vases, or they are cut very small and placed in small pots.
Seeded Eucalyptus
This has pointer, slender leaves. They are a darker green with a thicker stem. What really sets this type apart is their seeds. The seeds are often a dark green or a brown color. This adds a pop of texture and interest to the pieces they’re included in. They are often seen as branches in vases.
Silver Dollar Eucalyptus
This style of eucalyptus has larger circular leaves. The color is usually softer and muted. The leaves are perfect for fullness and their branch shape makes for elegant vase pieces.
Here’s how we suggest using these types of eucalyptus in your decor:
Vases
The easiest way to decorate with eucalyptus is as an elegant focal point in a vase. Spiral eucalyptus has a striking shape, and the color of our muted eucalyptus branches add an elegant, natural texture to a space while keeping the soft look.
Dough Bowl Centerpiece
Eucalyptus is a perfect addition to a centerpiece, which is why we feature it in so many of our designs. It adds interest to the greenery of the piece with the variety of shapes. We also customize the eucalyptus to several different color schemes, from the classic, muted look in our Eucalyptus and Ruscus piece to the brighter, more lively colors seen in our Summer Eucalyptus pieces. No matter the color scheme, eucalyptus provides full and natural looking greenery.
With Galvanized Metal
The softer muted eucalyptus that we offer complements galvanized metal perfectly. The natural textures of the eucalyptus provides contrast to metal pieces, especially our galvanized metal trays, adding an interesting focal point to your space.
